Following are notes for some specific common questions we have been asked
about.
Q: Do I need to install any software on my computer to use MC4000 ? A: No! MC4000 VGA to TV converter is a stand alone hardware device
requiring no software installation whatsoever.
Q: Can I use the MC-4000 converter with Laptop computers or only Desktop
Computers ? A: Sure can! You can plug the MC-4000 Video to TV converter straight into the
VGA connector on your laptop where you would normally plug in an extension
VGA monitor and use it for your large screen TV presentations. Many people
use it on Laptops. MC-4000 is small and compact and therefore great of
presentations while travelling.
Q: The picture in HDTV mode using Component Video connection is fuzzy.
Am I doing something wrong ? A: You are probably using the default 480i mode. Try one of the higher
resolution modes which will significantly improve picture quality. Using
Component Video connection press the "D1/D2/D3/D4" button on the MC-4000 box to switch the Computer Image into HDTV. The indicator LED will turn Green. If you also connect the MC-4000 to HDTV via S-Video or Composite Video Cable, press "NTSC/PAL" button
to switch the Computer Image into HDTV as TV resolution. The indicator LED will turn Red.
Q: I connected the MC-4000 to my Laptop VGA connection but not
getting any video on my TV except a message "No VGA Connected". A: You have not enabled the VGA out signal on your laptop. Please
see your laptop user manual. Its usually a simple keyboard function on the
laptop. You can also try to see if your laptop will auto detect the
converter. Simply power down your laptop, connect the MC-4000 and power up
your laptop. Often it will auto detect that there is a device connected to
the VGA port. Just like connecting an external VGA monitor.
