NPS-3000 is a complete Composite and S-Video NTSC to PAL Converter and PAL to NTSC Converter Device. Suitable for VCR, TV, Satellite Receiver, DVD Player and other video sources that require video conversion from one video format to another. It can also be used to convert NTSC tapes played on a genuine NTSC VCR to PAL to record on a genuine PAL VCR. Or vice cersa.

Following are notes for some specific common questions we have been asked about.


• Q: Can I connect NPS-3000 between PAL VCR and my big screen NTSC TV ?
  A: Of course. See the customer testimonials at www.micronica.com.au/catalog/nps3000/ where you can see that many people use it that way.
  


• Q: Can I connect NPS-3000 to the antenna wall socket and the antenna connection on my TV or VCR ?
  A: No! As you can see from the information NPS-3000 does not have an antenna connection! And really you don't need that! It has Composite Video and S-Video connections. It does not have an antenna connection because it does not have a TV Tuner to tune in all the TV stations built in. Instead you would use your PAL VCR as a TV tuner and plug NPS-3000 into the Video Out on your VCR to the Video In on your NTSC TV for example. Simple! This way you use your VCR as a TV Tuner and also use it to playback and convert your PAL tapes to NTSC to view on your NTSC TV. These are simple principles so if you are unsure pls contact your local TV technician to explain it or book in for a paid $90+gst consultation in person or by phone if you can't come in personally.
  


• Q: Please advise on suitability to use between DVD player, Sony Playstaion etc.
  A: The converter converts any real NTSC or PAL signal. This includes various DVD players, Game consoles, various input devices and monitors which are real PAL or real NTSC. Obviously if we didn't supply your other equipment and don't know your particular model of equipment it would be unreasonable for us to advise whether it will definitely work ;-) It would have to be tested with your specific equipment. Which would have to be done as a chargeable service job costing $90+gst. You are welcome to bring in your equipment or get a field visit arranged if necessary. But NPS3000 does what it says. And in a nutshell you can see the real customer testimonials that many people use NPS3000 precisely for that task. And picture quality is EXCELLENT! • Q: Can I convert my NTSC tapes to PAL if I play the tapes on ny "NTSC Compatible" VCR ?
  A: Thinks about this...is the output of your "NTSC Compatible VCR" NTSC ? Or is it PAL ? If you can view it on your PAL TV, or dual mode TV set to PAL mode, then clearly its not NTSC! So NPS-3000 would not be required. Keep in mind that some "NTSC Compatible" VCRs put out a kind of "in between" PAL signal viewable on "most" PAL TVs but which is neither "true" NTSC or PAL. Often such VCRs do not provide a genuine proper frame rate conversion or NTSC output signal so often the signal con not be recorded or will not show up properly on some TV's. Contact your VCR supplier if unsure. Cheapo NTSC/PAL converters suffer from this same problem ;-) NPS-3000 always converts "true" NTSC and "true" PAL. To convert your NTSC tapes make sure your VCR has REAL NTSC output! We can provide you a suitable proper NTSC VCR if you intend to do real NTSC tape or PAL tape conversions. Cost of suitable VCR is around $500+gst.
  


• Q: I am still unsure. What if I find it does not work for what I want to do with my particular equipment ?
  A: Don't worry too much. The product really does do what it says! So to help out people who are unsure and who don't want to use our in house, onsite or telephone consultation service we actually offer a refund less $90+gst restocking and retesting fee and any credit card and delivery fees if you return it within 7 days if it does not meet your need in some way ;-) As long as its 100% unmarked and repackaged. At least that gives you a "bailout" option if its TOTALLY unsuitable for some crazy reason :) But 99.9% for sure you will have no problems. No one has yet. Even with DVD recorders, LCD monitors and Large Screen TVs with which NPS3000 is VERY widely used! So we hope that helps.
